Chaos is something we all experience.
It can come in the form of unexpected hardships, broken relationships, or a world that feels out of control.

God Brings Order to Chaos
From the very beginning, the Bible shows that God is not a God of chaos but of order.
Genesis 1:2 describes the world before creation:
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
This verse paints a picture of a chaotic, empty, and dark world.
But God did not leave it that way.
With His word, He brought light, structure, and life.
Everything He created had a purpose and order.
This shows that God’s nature is to bring order out of chaos.

A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamped.

The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”
Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
This story is a reminder that Jesus has authority over chaos.
The disciples were afraid, but Jesus was at peace.
He simply spoke, and the storm stopped.
This same Jesus is with us today.
No matter how strong the storms in our lives may be, He can bring calm.
John 14:27 echoes this promise:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

How to Find Peace in Chaos

Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Even when things feel out of control, God’s plan is still unfolding.

Philippians 4:6-7 instructs, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Revelation 21:4 promises, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
